PUP remains top employer choice – Sidnanews

University of the Philippines remains top among colleges and universities in terms of hireable employees, while PUP is top among hirers, according to a new survey by an online job portal.

PUP retained its top position as the school “where most employers source their candidates” according to a new JobStreet study. A close second was UP (9%) and a close third was De La Salle (7%) University.

In the meantime, UP is the top university that companies want to hire, according to JobStreet. Next came the Polytechnic University and De La Salle University.

According to JobStreet representatives, the study was based on a quantitative survey with a 4% margin of error and a 95% level of confidence.

Online job portal stated that it would determine a school’s “hireability” based on where and how it sources its employees.

“Desirability,” however, is defined as a “wish list for companies regarding what schools they are looking for to fill their open positions.”

It was conducted in May and included more than 700 companies from 42 industries.

In its report on JobStreet, JobStreet points out that PUP graduates are considered to be effective team players at work by employers.

Meanwhile, UP and DLSU were able to capitalize on their academic reputations and their alignment to the hiring industries.

According to JobStreet, companies that mostly recruit PUP and UP graduates work in the fields of IT, HR, and BPO.

The healthcare, information technology, or property/real estate sectors, on the other hand, often seek DLSU graduates.

Construction, information technology, and telecommunications are the most likely industries to hire graduates from Mapua Institute of Technology.

According to JobStreet’s research, the following schools are the best for hiring and performing well across different industries.
