La Salle defeats AdU with Canino’s power

The UAAP Season 85 women’s volleyball tournament began yesterday with La Salle winning 22-25, 25-14, 25-16, 25-19 over Adamson at the Filoil EcoOil Center.

The Lady Spikers advanced with a 6-0 record as Angel Canino scored 21 points on 20 attacks plus 17 receptions in the four-setter.

With combined 11 blocks, Fifi Sharma (12) and Thea Gagate (16) served as a net wall, while veteran spiker Jolina dela Cruz contributed 10 points, 10 digs, and 13 receptions.

Aside from setting up her teammates, Mars Alba also excelled, making seven points on four aces, two attacks, and a block, plus 15 sets.

UST loses to La Salle in Super League
